How to create a portable wifi hotspot on android phone

Sharing the data connection of our phone with a tablet or a laptop is very easy. We just have to create a portable Wi-Fi hotspot. 

We go to Settings - (networks) - Portable hotspot

On portable hotspot select - set up portable hotspot. 

There we can change the SSID name (it is our device name when showing on wifi networks) and we will usually find a password that we can leave or change.

In the security section we can choose a strong encryption such as WPA-2. 

We must copy the password on a piece of paper or on a notes app (touch the eye-shaped icon to view) and the ssid too. 

Once set up, go back and enable the portable hotspot button, if it has not been done before. 

Important: To share the mobile data connection we must turn such connection on (be sure internet is working) and have the portable hotspot turned on. 

And we can now access the internet via wifi from another device.

Cómo crear una zona wifi o hotspot en un móvil android

Compartir la conexión de datos de nuestro móvil con una tablet o un portátil es muy fácil. Tan sólo tenemos que crear un punto de acceso wifi portátil, también llamado zona wifi o "hotspot". 

Nos vamos a Ajustes - (Redes) - Punto de acceso portátil (o zona wifi). 

En punto de acceso portátil (o zona wifi) seleccionar - Configurar punto de acceso portátil. 

Ahí podemos cambiar el nombre SSID (es el nombre que tiene nuestro dispositivo cuando aparece en redes wifi) y normalmente encontraremos una contraseña q podemos dejar o cambiarla.

En apartado seguridad elegimos un cifrado fuerte como es WPA-2. 

Debemos copiar en un papel o en una app de notas la contraseña (tocamos el icono con forma de ojo para visualizar) y también el ssid. 

Una vez configurado, retrocedemos y activamos el punto de acceso portátil si no lo hemos hecho antes. 

Importante: Para compartir la conexión de datos tenemos que activar dicha conexión en el móvil (asegurarnos que tenemos internet) y tener el punto de acceso portátil activado. 

Y ya podemos acceder a internet por wifi desde otro dispositivo.
