How to recover missing Google Drive folder on chromebook files app

In the chromebook file application, which is the file manager that Chrome OS comes with, I was trying to move a file from the downloads folder to the Google drive folder ... but I found that mysteriously the drive folder it had disappeared, it was no longer there. It happened on Chrome os 87.

In the end I found a solution! 

Steps:

1. Go to settings: we can do it from the clock or by opening the application.

2. Search for "drive" and select "Disconnect Google Drive account".

We can also access from settings - advanced settings - files - Disconnect Google Drive account

3. Turn on the "Disconnect Google Drive account" button.

4. Now if we check the files application we will see that the drive folder is there, but it is 'read only'. 

5. So what we have to do is to reboot the system. We turn off the computers and turn it on again. 

6. The Google Drive folder will appear with all its functions, and we will be able to move and save files in it. 

Is there an Openoffice app for android or chromebook?

Can Openoffice be used on android or on a chromebook? Officially there is no OpenOffice app for android or chrome os. 

However, there is one on Google play that is based on the openoffice code and that is very similar, if not the same. 

It's called AndroOpen Office and it's based on the latest version of Openoffice, this can be seen if we access the app's settings. 

It has the classic word processor, the option to create presentations, calc sheets, math formulas, drawing... The same as in OpenOffice.

In chromeboks, there is also the possibility of installing the official Openoffice through Linux beta, but it is a little more complicated than installing an app from Google Play.

How to create a portable wifi hotspot on android phone

Sharing the data connection of our phone with a tablet or a laptop is very easy. We just have to create a portable Wi-Fi hotspot. 

We go to Settings - (networks) - Portable hotspot

On portable hotspot select - set up portable hotspot. 

There we can change the SSID name (it is our device name when showing on wifi networks) and we will usually find a password that we can leave or change.

In the security section we can choose a strong encryption such as WPA-2. 

We must copy the password on a piece of paper or on a notes app (touch the eye-shaped icon to view) and the ssid too. 

Once set up, go back and enable the portable hotspot button, if it has not been done before. 

Important: To share the mobile data connection we must turn such connection on (be sure internet is working) and have the portable hotspot turned on. 

And we can now access the internet via wifi from another device.

How to install or uninstall spotify on chromebook linux beta

This article is for Linux Debian, which is the one (linux beta) that can be enabled on chrome os, chromebooks system. To install the desktop version of Spotify on a chromebook (or debian) we have to do it through the linux beta terminal (which must has been activated previously). 

HOW TO INSTALL SPOTIFY:

We open the Linux Terminal app and write:

sudo apt-get install spotify-client 

Reply we do want to install by typing: y

Once installed, it is very likely that when you open Spotify, it will close instantly. In linux the app usually crashes. 

The trick to open Spotify  is:

Open terminal and type:

spotify --no-zygote

Then automatically Spotify will open. 

HOW TO UNINSTALL SPOTIFY:

sudo apt-get --purge remove spotify-client

And follow instructions.
